Welcome to Unlocking the supply chain: A guide for non-supply chain staff!

This 90 minute course will explore the supply chain management (SCM) world for non-supply chain humanitarian professionals and show how this can be a valuable tool for optimizing humanitarian operations. It will explain the core principles of Supply Chain Management, and the key activities (e.g. Procurement, Distribution etc.) within the Supply Chain process in a non-technical way, so you can develop a better understanding of Supply Chain Management. 

It will explain how you, your role and your actions may impact the Supply Chain process, and also where your input may be required to support Supply Chain activities. Key considerations and examples, which are specific to you depending on your role, will be highlighted. The e-learning will also identify parts of the Supply Chain process which have an impact on yours and your own functional processes and activities, 

With this increased knowledge of the basic Supply Chain principles it will allow you to interact more effectively with Supply Chain, and also help you achieve your own functional objectives more effectively and efficiently. 

Supply Chain covers a broad range of activities. Within this e-learning, we will focus on the following areas: Planning, Procurement, Distribution, Warehousing.
