Welcome to Embedding sustainability into end-to-end supply chains!

Supply chain sustainability looks at the social, economic and environmental factors that impact supply chain and how we can tackle these in order to deliver more effective and efficient programs. 

This 3 hour course will explore the fundamental concepts of sustainability, how it fits into humanitarian supply chains and operations, and the motivation for humanitarian organizations to address this important topic.  

This course was developed by Save the Children International and HELP Logistics with support from Amazon.

This course is designed for any supply chain staff working in the humanitarian sector and small to medium sized suppliers (<250 staff) in low-middle income countries to improve their sustainability practices.

On completion of this course you will be able to: 
  • Define what sustainability is and the relevant factors to work towards this goal.
  • Explain the three dimensions of sustainability and how they relate to and depend on each other.
  • Explain the relationship between humanitarian activities and sustainability. 
  • Provide examples of the challenges unique to the humanitarian sector which may affect sustainability.
