"The Well-Equipped Filipino Volunteer" hopes to elevate the value of volunteering by ensuring that volunteers being deployed by organisations are prepared, skilled and has a good understanding of the principles and standards in disaster response.

This is the second course under the Philippine Volunteer Essentials (PVE) pathway. PVE has other sets of modules that cover volunteerism in relation to country's disaster profile as well as volunteer safety, security and wellness.

	Is this course for me?
	This course is designed with Filipino volunteers in mind—students, youth, professionals, retirees, residents—who wish to help out their fellowmen who were affected by disasters. Organizations will also find the course useful in ensuring that the volunteers they are recruiting are ready, able and well-equipped for their task or deployment.
	How will I benefit from this course?
	On completion of this course you will: have a good understanding of basic disaster risk reduction concepts and the Philippine disaster risk profile and its connection to the need for volunteers have an appreciation of the role of volunteers in delivering aid to affected communities have knowledge on the benefits of volunteering  have knowledge on how to encourage others to take part in volunteer work
