Welcome to Household Economy Analysis: Baseline 

The course covers the main components of an HEA baseline exercise including livelihood zoning, reference years, seasonal calendars, market data, wealth breakdown, quantification of livelihood strategies, coping strategies, and analysing data.

This course is for Technical Practitioners who a) are planning to take part in an HEA Baseline Assessment; b) want a technical understanding of the HEA baseline methodology; and/or c) would like to refresh their knowledge of the HEA baseline methodology.

By the end of the course the learner will have a detailed understanding of the HEA baseline methodology and process. The learner will be able to:

1. Explain a reference year and the benefits of a seasonal calendar.

2. Define the elements of the HEA thresholds.

3. Define the wealth breakdown process.

4. Define coping strategies by cost level.

5. Understand the basic functions of a baseline storage spreadsheet.
