Welcome to the Staff and Partner Wellbeing in the Workplace course.
Whether you are involved in the immediate
emergency work, the longer-term relief work or in some other crisis event that
affects the children and families, and regardless if you work in the field directly
with affected communities or in the offices supporting, you work under
difficult and sometimes stressful conditions. You may yourself be affected directly by a disaster or incident.
It is common for people working with crisis-affected children or caregivers to experience powerful emotions and reactions, or even hearing the communities’ stories through our colleagues can affect us. You may be overwhelmed with feelings of despair, anger, rage or guilt or a sense of lost control or loss of temper. You may blame yourself for not being able to meet children’s and other people’s needs and expectations. Under these conditions your stress level will rise and you may be at risk of increasing stress.
This course provides an interactive module that is designed to help support you to stay well and healthy at work, and in your wider life. It must be remembered that work forms part of a person's life. We spend considerable amounts of time at work during our lives. But it is important to have a balanced life. A balanced life is needed for a healthy and thriving mind, which in turn means you can be the best person you possibly can be – with your loved ones, with your work colleagues and in your communities.
The course is available in English and Arabic, and can be run on mobile phones, tablets and computers, both online and offline.
