As the world is celebrating the World Humanitarian Day, many Syrian refugees living across Lebanon are losing out on the help they desperately need. Six NGO came together to work as Lebanon Cash Consortium (LCC) - first in its kind in Lebanon - since last December. The cash based approach is a cost-efficient and flexible mean of delivering assistance to the most vulnerable Syrian families in Lebanon that preserves the dignity of beneficiaries.
Currently supported by ECHO, cash assistance delivered by the LCC is used to meet basic needs by recipients, largely food, shelter, medicines and debt repayment. Cash assistance has been proven to increase autonomy and dignity of the Syrian Refugees as well as stimulating the Lebanese local market.
