Webinar: On the cusp: proposals to advance the cash reform (1 hr)

On 15 June 2016, CaLP hosted a webinar to explore the innovative pathways for change to deliver on the initial vision of the World Humanitarian Summit (WHS) which would see cash-based assistance becoming the default method of support for people in emergencies. 

Panelists were invited to present on different components of a reformed humanitarian cash assistance 

• Sara Almer, CaLP Coordinator, addressed the monitoring of commitments made during the WHS through the Agenda for Cash and outlined the upcoming Cash 2020 initiative, a series of discussions and action research around the future of cash in a substantially reformed architecture 
• Nigel Timmins, Oxfam International's Humanitarian Director exploring the pathways towards a greater localisation of humanitarian assistance. 
• Satwik Seshasai, Chief Technology Officer of Segovia, highlighted the potential for a growing role of the private sector and areas for partnerships with humanitarian actors 
• Julia Steets, Director of GPPi, focused on the implications of the cash reform on the humanitarian institutional set-up and opened up on a lively discussion.
