	Is this course for me?
	This course is mandatory learning for all Crisis Response, Recovery and Development (CRRD) new, current, and future employees. The contents of this course are part of the IRC's commitment to enhance knowledge and access to tools on personal safety and security for all staff.
	How will I benefit from this course?
	On completion of this course you will: be able to list the four Humanitarian Principles that the IRC stands by and explain additional key principles from the CRRD Safety and Security Policy. have a better understanding of the Security Management Cycle and how you, as an IRC staff member, can contribute to the IRC’s safety and security. know how to prepare and what to expect before, during, and after your travels. be able to identify who can drive and who can be transported in an IRC vehicle, describe how to respond to reckless driving and how to respond to a road traffic accident, and outline the IRC's guiding communication principles during movements. understand how to develop and maintain situational and cultural awareness. be able to define sexual violence and the different types of sexual violence, identify strategies for managing personal safety and risk, outline actions available to a survivor in case an incident of sexual violence occurs, and understand ways you can support a survivor. learn how to mitigate and respond to checkpoints and roadblocks, armed robbery, crossfire, shelling and bombing, camp environments and mob violence, landmines, remnants of war and improvised explosive devices, abduction, arrest and detention, and learn about the importance of knowing the IRC mission.
	How long will it take?
	This course contains seven modules. These seven modules will take approximately four hours to complete.
	How much does it cost?
	This course is free!
	Will I get a certificate at the end?
	At the end of each module there will be a quiz. Obtaining a passing score on the quiz for all modules will result in receiving a Certificate of Completion.  Save or print the certificate to demonstrate you have completed the course and show or email it to your Human Resources point of reference, who will record your course completion.
