Welcome to the Housing, Land and Property (HLP) eLearning!

The enforcement of HLP rights requires an enabling environment by duty bearers that will allow displacement affected populations to successfully claim and exercise these rights. This interactive eLearning module is designed to help duty bearers such as governments, related authorities, UN/INGO staff and local NGO/CBO staff build technical knowledge on the basic concepts of Housing Land & Property rights and collaborative dispute resolution.

The overall objective of the course is to equip these actors with a foundational understanding of key concepts that will enable them to identify and address HLP issues in their programme responses and support the enforcement of HLP rights.

This interactive eLearning instils learners with key guidance on addressing Housing, Land and Property issues. The learner journey consists of four modules and a short assessment, which users can access from the main course page:

• An Introduction to Housing, Land and Property Rights;
• Why is it important to address HLP issues?;
• Housing Land and Property rights during  internal displacement;
• Addressing Housing Land and Property disputes;
• Final Assessment.

	Is this course for me?
	This course is for humanitarian practitioners seeking guidance on how to include HLP issues in their programming responses. It is intended to assist the following people at all stages of programming: humanitarian agency professionals (local and international) implementing activities with direct or indirect implications on HLP issues local authorities directly responsible for housing, land and property issues whose activities impact on humanitarian interventions (i.e. officials involved with justice, land administration, municipal governance as well as customary authorities) staff of international organizations whose activities will benefit from training on HLP issues
	How will I benefit from this course?
	On completion of this course you will be able to: Describe why it is important to consider addressing HLP issues in humanitarian relief and recovery programmes; Outline key concepts and terms related to HLP; Describe ways of addressing HLP during and after displacement; Consider causes of HLP disputes and ways to address them.
	How long will it take?
	The course consists of four modules, followed by a short assessment. The complete learning path should take you around 4 hours to complete.

	Will I get a certificate at the end?
	Yes - you will be able to download a certificate once you have have completed all of the modules within the course.
