Welcome to VCAT Facilitators Training
This is an online course in how to lead workshops in values clarification and attitude transformation (VCAT) to explore values and attitudes relating to abortion and other areas of sexual and reproductive health and rights.
The course is designed to get you started as a VCAT facilitator, or to expand the range of VCAT activities you can use, and to improve your appreciation of the role of the VCAT facilitator. The course is divided into three parts, and contains a total of 24 short videos and quizzes to test your learning as you go.
Is this course for me? Any person interested in leading VCAT workshops to explore values and attitudes relating to abortion and other areas of sexual and reproductive health and rights.
How will I benefit from this course?
You will learn how to create a safe space environment in your workshops, and how to encourage rich and meaningful conversations with a wide range of VCAT activities.
This course is designed to make VCAT Facilitator Guides more accessible, but it isn't designed to replace them. Links to resources are provided within the course, and you can also find more VCAT resources, developed by Ipas, here: https://www.ipas.org/resource-library/
How long will it take? This course should take you around 4 hours to complete. The video content is approximately 2 hours in total (across 24 videos) plus time for reflections and short knowledge tests.
Will I get a certificate at the end? Yes - you will be able to download a certificate once you have completed all of the modules within the course and the feedback form.
How do I start? Scroll to the top of the page and click on the I agree - Join course button. This will take you through to the course content. You don't need to complete the course in one go - you can always continue later from where you left off.
