Welcome to the EdTech 101 course.
The EdTech 101 course will introduce learners to education technology and how it can be integrated into education programing. Specifically, the course will cover the different types of EdTech, guiding principles for EdTech integration, how EdTech has been used across the movement, and the agency’s future EdTech plans.
Is this course for me? This
course is designed for individuals working in education in any capacity and in
all contexts across the movement. Learners taking this course do not need to
have any prior knowledge of education technology. This course is applicable for
all staff members, both technical and non-technical.
How will I benefit from this course? By the end of this course, learners will be able
to:
- Define EdTech
- Name at least 1 example each of no-tech, low-tech
and high-tech tools for education
- Explain how EdTech can be used at all levels of
the socioecological model
- Name some examples of digital learning solutions
- Employ the key guiding principles when selecting EdTech tools and integrating EdTech into education programming
How long will it take? It should take you about 1 hour to complete the course.
It's up to you whether you complete it in a single sitting or spread it out over a number of sessions. If you do choose to spread it over a number of sessions, the course will automatically record your progress and you will be able to resume where you left off.
How much does it cost? This course is free.
Will I get a certificate at the end? Yes! A certificate of completion is available once you have completed the course. How do I start? Click on Join button on this page.
