 Is this course for me?
The course is conducted in English and Arabic, and is designed to empower child protection practitioners from international and national non- governmental organisations, UN agencies, and government representatives to strengthen their child protection humanitarian response capabilities in both chronic crises and new emergencies.

The Entry level course page is designed for child protection practitioners with one to two years of experience. It focuses on: child protection legal foundations; child protection risks; child protection principles; and cross-cutting themes.  

The CPIE Entry Level Course is part of the CPIE Professional Development Programme. The CPIE PDP is divided in three learning levels: Entry, Intermediate and Advanced. Each level will deliver several learning blocks and will be offered online, with some off-line, asynchronous tasks as well as live, synchronous. Each learning block represents an area of Child Protection Minimum standards (CPMS).

 How will I benefit from this course?
By taking the course, you will further develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes needed to design and implement high quality Child Protection in Emergencies programmes.

By the end of this course you will be able to:
  • Describe the main child protection risks that children may face in humanitarian settings
  • Explain core principles of child protection programming
  • Describe and explain core concepts on CPIE programming from early childhood to adolescence, for children with disabilities, and gender equality in emergencies

It is estimated that the entire course will take you around 23 hours to complete.
