Welcome to the CashCap 5W training!

This course is for anyone who has an interest in understanding the significance of information management in humanitarian response. The course covers the foundational principles of information management and the application of these principles to the 5W (Who is doing What, Where, When, for Whom) monitoring tool. This self-paced training also covers an essential understanding for working with the tool in the humanitarian (and development) context.


This training is divided into six sections with a total duration of approximately 72 minutes. It is advisable to review the course content in the established sequence, since each session builds on the previous one. Please also take a moment to download the accompanying spreadsheets provided in the relevant sessions and attempt the practical exercises.
