The Humanitarian Information Management, Communications & Media module is a stand alone module linked to HOP Fundamentals, an open-access, self-paced catalogue of quality assured and interactive learning modules, curated by partner providers or created by Save the Children.
 
Fundamentals has three levels and is aimed at people beginning their career in the humanitarian sector or for those transitioning from the development sector. It is also aimed at individuals who have never received formal training on the essentials of humanitarian action, or for those wishing to ‘refresh’ their knowledge. 

Fundamentals has been carefully designed to provide a streamlined learning journey which covers the key topics related to the delivery of quality emergency responses.

This module is targeted towards individuals who wish to gain an understanding of Humanitarian Information Management, Communications & Media. It will cover, different information management, communications and media products and their purpose when used by humanitarian actors in emergencies. Best practice guidance and approaches for using these products effectively and recognising the potential for humanitarian staff to experience vicarious trauma when carrying out information management, communications and media activities, and the importance of establishing self-care mechanisms.
