The Introduction to Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) in Emergencies module is a stand alone module linked to HOP Fundamentals, an open-access, self-paced catalogue of quality assured and interactive learning modules, curated by partner providers or created by Save the Children.
Fundamentals has three levels and is aimed at people beginning their career in the humanitarian sector or for those transitioning from the development sector. It is also aimed at individuals who have never received formal training on the essentials of humanitarian action, or for those wishing to ‘refresh’ their knowledge.
Fundamentals has been carefully designed to provide a streamlined learning journey which covers the key topics related to the delivery of quality emergency responses.
How will I benefit from this module?
The aim of this training is to give an introduction to the role and key activities of the WASH sector in emergencies. You will be introduced to the different aspects of WASH and how they combine to reduce the risk of disease. You will also see how cross-cutting issues are incorporated into WASH programming and how WASH programming is in turn incorporated into other sectors of humanitarian response.
How long will it take?
Approximately 1 to 2 hours. You can exit at any time and when you return, the module will take you to where you left off.
How much does it cost?
This module is free!
