This e-learning course will familiarise you with relevant bodies of law and other normative guidance on protection and increase your understanding of how the legal framework both informs and provides the foundation of protection work.  
For course participants who have a legal background, the course provides a concise refresher.

On completion of this course you will:
  • Be familiar with the basic elements of the international normative framework related humanitarian protection, including: International Human Rights Law and International Humanitarian Law

  • Be introduced to Refugee Law
  • Gain a better understanding of the application of the IDP Guiding Principles
  • Identify the rights of individuals who are displaced, according to the appropriate bodies of law
  • Be introduced to how the normative framework can inform and strengthen your work
