Welcome to Healing Classrooms for Students Affected by Forced Migration: Classroom Management.
This self-paced course introduces educators to the International Rescue Committee’s Healing Classrooms approach to classroom management. Educators will learn strategies to support students affected by forced migration and other traumatic experiences in contexts of resettlement, asylum, and integration.

  • Describe the Healing Classrooms approach and explain the importance of intentional classroom management when working with students affected by forced migration.
  • Identify several classroom management strategies that support students affected by forced migration.
  • Develop an action plan to enhance your own classroom management practices and better engage students affected by forced migration.

 Yes - you will be able to download a certificate once you have have completed all sections of the course, as well as the feedback survey. New Jersey educators who complete and receive a completion certificate may use the hours toward the 100 Professional Development hours required.
