Welcome to the Introduction to Coaching and Mentoring course, now with an interactive game!

This course has been specifically designed to help you develop your understanding of coaching and mentoring and the benefits of using them when working in an emergency response. With this course and accompanying toolkit, you will be able to recognise how to structure and carry out an effective coaching or mentoring session.

This course uses video and scenarios to help you to build and strengthen your understanding of how to put coaching and mentoring skills effectively into practice.

This variation of the course includes an early version of a multiplayer game that will test your practical coaching skills through different activities. As an early adopter, you will be one of the first learners to play the game.

Please note that this course includes a multiplayer game that must be played with a colleague or a friend. You will find instructions on how to invite them to participate once you have joined the course.

A person with a thinking bubble Are the course and game for me?
Yes, definitely! You might be a technical specialist (e.g. nutritionist, health adviser, education manager) who is looking for a more effective way to impart knowledge to others and build their skills. You might be a manager keen to support individuals in your team. Part of your role may be to develop others or you may have been approached to be a coach and mentor within your organisation or network. This course will give you the building blocks you need to do this with confidence, while the game will give you the opportunity to test these skills in simulated sessions.
