Welcome to the Writing effectively course.  Writing well is a skill. Within the humanitarian sector, written tasks are frequently urgent, and it can be tempting to de-prioritise them in favour of more pressing problems. However, writing is an extremely important means of communication: without it, there would be no dissemination of what is happening in the field; no data on which to base calls for funding; no accurate recording of action taken, and no means to communicate with donors.

This online self-study course has five modules.

Module 1 - Effective writing

Module 2 - Office correspondence

Module 3 - Report writing

Module 4 - Proposal and report writing for fundraising

Module 5 - Advanced effective writing
